Terms of Service

1. The service

Sherlock.ai ("Sherlock", "we", "us") provides AI-generated interview simulations, research summaries, scores, and feedback to help you prepare for real interviews. By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.

2. AI output disclaimer

Interview questions, research, scores, and feedback are generated by AI from the material you provide and from public sources. They are practice signals, not professional, legal, financial, or career advice, and may contain errors. Sherlock does not predict, promise, or influence the outcome of any real interview or hiring decision, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any employer named in your material.

3. Presence read (optional camera feature)

Some simulations offer an optional "presence read" that looks at body language from your camera. It is off unless you switch it on for a round, it runs entirely on your device (we never receive your video), and it is purely advisory: it is shown separately from, and does not affect, your interview score. Body-language signals are approximate proxies that can be influenced by your camera, lighting, cultural norms, neurodivergence, and disability; they are not a measure of competence and must not be relied on as one. Use of the feature is entirely at your discretion. How the data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Your content

You confirm you are entitled to share the job emails and descriptions you submit. You retain ownership of your content; you grant us the limited license needed to operate the service on it (parsing, AI processing, storage, and report generation). We research companies and roles, not individual interviewers, regardless of what your emails contain.

5. Purchases, unlocks, and refunds

Sherlock is billed per interview, not by subscription. Each interview shows its full price in US Dollars (exclusive of any taxes that may apply) before payment; unlocking a case is a one-time purchase processed by our payment provider, and promotional codes apply where stated. There is no auto-renewal. Because the service is delivered digitally and substantially on unlock, purchases are generally non-refundable once interview rounds have been taken, except: (a) if a paid case fails to deliver its rounds or report for technical reasons on our side, we will refund it in full on request; and (b) any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights available to you under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and related rules continue to apply. A refund re-locks the case. Refund requests: support@sherlock.ai.

6. Fair use

You agree not to: share accounts; resell or white-label the service; scrape or bulk-automate it; attempt to extract system prompts, other users' data, or our internal configuration; upload unlawful content; or use the service to harass or to surveil any individual. Rate and usage limits protect the service and may evolve. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, its design, prompts, and software are ours or our licensors'. Your reports and transcripts are yours to keep and use personally. If you send us feedback about the product, we may use it without obligation to you.

8. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", and features may change. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be notified in-product or by email, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice, in which case unused paid unlocks will be refunded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties, and our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted). We may terminate accounts for breach of section 6, refunding any case paid for but not yet usable.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any non-waivable consumer rights available to you, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with the service or these Terms.
